Just found this site a few months ago after getting hooked on Psych. I had watched a few episodes, but not until the mini-marathons on ion Television did I get obsessed with the show. My favorite part of the show, what actually got me to take notice, was the complexity of Shawn's relationship with his dad, Henry. In fact, it was "Shawn Takes A Shot In the Dark" that sold me on the show and drove me to want more and to look for fics. There are sooooo many good stories here, it's fic heaven.

Love this story. It was one of the first ones that I read here on the site and it's still one of my favorites. How can you miss with a story featuring Henry and Shawn?
Everyone knows Shawn has a tendency to get distracted. When he misses a clue and a murderer almost gets away, Chief Vick has had enough. She orders Shawn to get help and fix the problem- or else. Naturally, nothing with Shawn is ever that simple. When the fix turns out to be worse than the problem, the lives of his entire team are put in danger.

Great story. My favorite parts are from Chapters 4, 5 and 6. I keep going back and re-reading those. :) Shawn spiraling out of control, Lassiter subduing him, Henry figuring out what's wrong with him and then everything at the hospital and back at Henry's. Love it! One thing really intrigues me ... I want to read more about the first time this happened to Shawn. This part "Henry noticed his son was also exhibiting a behavior that he had not seen from his son in years, but recognized immediately." And this: "Henry scoffed. 'In all this information, did you even bother to listen to Shawn or consider his history and the disaster that happened last time he was put on these kinds of meds as a kid?'" More, please?

Wow, so glad I found this once it was finished. I would not have been able to stand having to wait for each chapter. Great story! The best part is how you focused on each characters reaction, particularly those closest to Shawn. That is what I look for in "Shawn!Whump!" stories ... not how badly he's beaten (sometimes that can be too much), but an in depth look at the reactions to it by the people who love him. The balance was good in this story. The reactions being focused on more than the actual torture. This has become one of my favorite stories. Thank you for writing and sharing it.
Six months ago, Shawn Spencer disappeared.Five months, three weeks and six days ago, there were no leads as to where he had been taken.

The only negative I have with this story is the lack of his Mom at the end. Would have loved a scene of her seeing him again and helping/counseling him. Other than that, I loved it. So glad you balanced his fear of becoming just like them with remaining true to himself and being good. One of my favorite parts is his dad reassuring him when he's in the hospital. That was just wonderful, touching and a bit heart-wrenching. Well done. Thank you for sharing.
