Okay, personal disclaimer: This story stoops to the lowest depths of fangirlness possible. Seriously, I have no shame. This story has no real plot, no real case, no real anything, actually, but it goes on for about 20 chapters longer than it should. Or something, I haven't counted. Revolves mainly around Shawn, Gus, and Henry (who was actually something of a surprise to me. I didn't see him coming) with huge cameos that are more than cameos by everybody else, especially Lassiter who again wouldn't keep his fat head where it belongs. Anyways, Shawn torture/pain/etc./etc./etc. is essentially the point of this particular story. I should be ashamed.
But I'm not.

Note to all you fantastic readers out there: This story is completely written (save for a paragraph or two at the end, but I'm quite happily ignoring that). My update schedule is dependent on three things: 1) How long it takes me to type up and edit every chapter, 2) If I go anywhere on vacation and leave my precious computer behind, and 3) how much I want to milk you for reviews.

Honestly, my excitement at posting this story probably out-weighs anyone's excitement at reading each new chapter. I have to force myself to wait a couple of days to update. I do like my reviews :). Huge thank you to anyone who stops and makes the time to review. I live on those things (a good thing too, because the food at my school cafeteria sucks). I try and reply to anyone who leaves me a comment, so go check it out if you've written a review. It may take a couple of days, but you're almost certainly guaranteed some sort of ecstatic response.

My apologies. I meant to have this chapter up much earlier today, but it ended up being a much busier day than I had intended it to be. But I promised so here you go:
Seriously, the reviews for last chapter were absolutely fantabulous. Apparently I need to disappear for long periods more often *grins evilly and isn't quite sure if she's completely joking or not*. To SydneyWoo, because she's right, I really do owe you guys for wandering off into internet-less ParentLand for so long, and because she used the word "retro-whump" in her review. Also, RainaJames, I think you're onto something. The reviews were awesome, and I couldn't help myself (besides, as mentioned before, SydneyWoo effectively cowed me). And Emily...just keep chanting. Someday it may actually work :).
Oh, final note: I have never been in Santa Barbara. You can tell. Any directions are extremely vague (you'll notice that when they do pull out the map everyone seems to have suddenly lost the ability to describe what they're looking at), and at some point Santa Barbara develops some very generic street names, and several extremely convenient to my story landmarks. Yay for no research! Just a warning, ya'll. I know at least one of you actually lives there. Grin and bear it with a superior sort of smile.

Only one: if you read the sentence (found somewhere in the middle) in which Henry is said to be "roaring up the gravel drive" as literal and not in correlation with his vehicle, it's frickin' hilarious. And at one point he "throws up his hands." GROSS.

Warning: gore factor. There are so many synonyms for "sucks to be you" (mutilated, pulp, mottled, bruised, drenched, etc.). I used all of them.

Also, on another note, Lyr brought up a good point in her review: Medically, I haven't a clue as to what I'm talking about. I did a little research, and said, "eh...this oughta do it." It didn't :). Someday I will write a book entitled "Emergency Health: A Guide to Killing Yourself Faster" and no one will question my skillz again. Word. Moral of the story, please don't do anything that these guys are doing. Granted, I wouldn't suggest climbing around on the top of a building by yourself either, so it all works out. Ignore my medically-unsound advice, and read and enjoy!

Couple notes: I will forever curse the wording of one of Henry's lines in the last chapter. Just to let you know, no, Henry did not tie down Shawn as a child. It was meant to be metaphorical and deep, and it came across as vaguely abusive. Whoops.
Again, general disclaimer concerning the research done for this: Absolutely none. Any and all health related things were quite happily made up for dramatic purposes. Don't go to this hospital, you'll probably die.
And blergh--sorry about the weird formatting. I had to use notepad to type up the chapter rather than word, for an irritating and unspecified reason. I may go back and fix it at some point, but this, for now, is how it's going to be. Much to my chagrin.
