Shawn Spencer, psychic detective and ex-assassin, has finally broken free of his shady pre-Psych past for good. Life with his lovely wife and his best friend in San Francisco has never been better. ...Until Ewan O'Hara shows up with the Helicopter Stormtroopers of Doom and recruits Shawn and Gus for help in taking down Homicide International Trust. With no other way out, Shawn agrees to guide Ewan in his quest, but to do so, he'll have to delve into the darkest corners of his past...the eleven years that he spent as a professional hitman for hire.
In the meantime, with that trip to Jamaica cancelled, Juliet has just enough time to save the mayor of San Francisco from being assassinated...or die trying.
"I'm pulling you down, so can you take the weight?
Can you take the weight?
It's crashing around, so can you take the weight?
Can you take the weight of my world?"

This story is set immediately after the events of Psych: The Movie. It's also set shortly after the events of my fic "Judas In My Mind," which takes place only a few months before the movie. This story will make infinitely more sense if you read the first story before this one. But for those of you who don't want to read it or just want a refresher, here's the rundown.
In this alternate universe:
1. Shawn was recruited by Murdoc (the bad guy from MacGyver) to be a professional assassin working for the criminal organization Homicide International Trust (HIT) in 1995, while he was in jail after being arrested by Henry for stealing a car to impress a girl.
2. While Shawn was gone from Santa Barbara, he didn't actually have all those jobs that he claimed to have. He had one job: professional assassin. He did this for roughly eleven years, from 1995 until 2006. He did, however, do a lot of those activities that he references in the show either for fun or as part of a disguise/stakeout/etc.
3. Shawn and Murdoc grew very close during the two years that Murdoc was training him (1995-1997) and remained as close as family until 2017.
4. Murdoc misled Shawn from the very beginning about what HIT was and what Shawn's actual job was. Shawn knew that he was an assassin, but he was under the assumption that he was working for a CIA-like organization as a black ops agent of some kind. He did not know that he was actually a criminal working for a society of villainous mercenaries. When he found out, Murdoc agreed to help him get out of HIT. The price for Shawn's "retirement" was having to kill Murdoc.
5. Shawn and Juliet got married immediately after "The Break-Up." They were going to Jamaica to renew their vows and spend quality time together.
Everything else should be more or less canon-compliant, but there might be a few other inconsistencies, especially since I wrote "Judas In My Mind" well before the movie. Now, without further ado... Enjoy!

This chapter is the reason that I keep thinking of this story as an A-Team crossover rather than a MacGyver crossover. *facepalm*
Meanwhile, how about some Psych quotes that help illustrate why Shawn might actually be an assassin?
“You know I was serious when I said that it would be good to have a guy like you come along. You should come with us. Come on. You got the kamikaze in you. I can smell it.” ----Tommy, "Shawn and Gus in Drag (Racing)"
“You’re highly intelligent, but you’re shameful of that fact, so you play it down through the use of inappropriate behavior, and you live in fear of showing weakness, so you hide behind a constant barrage of jokes and sarcasm.” ------Declan, "Shawn 2.0"
