Author's Chapter Notes:
I realized that I forgot to check the Complete box, so while I was at it, I thought I'd go ahead and add this note.

To those of you who have just started reading this one story: this message is not for you. :-D
To those of you who find my OC, Rebecca, utterly irritating: this message isn't for you, either.
But for the rest of you, you should know this: unless I find a really, really good idea for Becca and Lassie, this will in all likelihood be the last Rebecca story I post. There are a lot of reasons. One of which is that this story is not of great quality. Which is not her fault; there were a lot of factors going into that (lack of time, combining two plot ideas, etc), but as I wrote this story, I realized that if I keep writing with my OC, I will run out of ideas for her, which will result in lower quality stories, and I don't want to do that. So, I suppose this is to say, farewell, Rebecca Williams. Farewell.

May we someday meet again.

Lassiter thought it felt strange to walk into work again the next day, suit and tie, just as normal as could be, when just the night before he'd gotten a full confession out of a perp who'd murdered forty-eight people in cold blood. A perp who happened to look just like his fiancée. Who was standing by the door, holding his coffee, without a care in the world, looking lovely.

"Williams," he said, accepting the life-giving coffee cup, "you don't know how much I've missed you."
"I missed you, too," she said with a smile.
"So tell me, what did you do here all by yourself?"
She glanced at the Chief's door and then shrugged casually. "Oh, nothing. Nothing."
"You're a terrible liar."
Rebecca grinned. "I know."

Gus approached them as soon as he and Shawn walked in, knowing that Shawn would head straight for Juliet and not miss him. "Lassiter. Does the maximum security facility have visitation hours?"
"Guster, you're not really planning on visiting the psycho whackadoo, are you?"
"Well, the transition to prison life is a big one, especially if the court decides to put her in maximum security. She's fragile enough as it is. She needs me."
Lassiter just stared. "Talk to Allen. She can set you up."
"Thank you," Gus said, and walked off.

Rebecca stared at him as he left. "I firmly believe that there's someone for everyone, but somehow I'm not sure that the someone for Gus should be a serial killer with my face."
Lassiter smirked. "Technically, she was born first, so you have her face."
Rebecca shot him a glare. "Don't push your luck."

"You know, Jules," Shawn said, "I really feel like this case isn't over."
"Yeah, I know what you mean," Juliet replied. "It just feels unfinished, somehow."
"We need a slam-bang finish to end this thing. Maybe with a big musical number!"

Buzz McNab interrupted their thought by running in with a case file tucked under his arm. "Detective Lassiter! Another serial killer struck Santa Barbara! The Chief needs to see you right away!"

"Well," Shawn said, "it's not a musical number."
Juliet sighed. "You can say that again."

Shawn grinned big. "Well, it's not a musical number. But I'll take it!"
Chapter End Notes:
Interestingly enough, this story ends not with a bang, but with Shawn.
