Author's Chapter Notes:
Short and sweet and silly, just like my friend Camo! *SMISH* Happy birthday, tiger_head!

Shawn raced across the docks, feet slapping against the wood in rhythm with the waves as they lapped against the shoreline. The night was cool and dark with hundreds of stars visible in the sky, and a slight wind blowing from the north. Shawn's face was dead serious as he sprinted towards the sandy dunes, where Juliet was waiting for him.

Lassiter and his father had ordered him not to go, but since when had he ever taken orders? Besides, the serial bomber had kidnapped his girlfriend, and called him out to find her, not that he'd tell them that anyways. He was smarter than that; his dad would probably handcuff him to a chair or something to keep him from finding Juliet.

Finally, Shawn leapt over the last dune, clearing it and scrambling forward, his sneakers digging into the sand. Juliet was lying there, completely still.

"Shawn," she said, her voice a terrified whisper. Shawn dropped to his knees next to her, eyeing the complicated device that had been strapped around her chest.

"I'll get you out of this, Jules," he promised. "Give me a sec."

She batted her eyelashes at him. "Anything you say, Shawn."

Shawn gave her a smirk, and then went back to surveying the bomb. The clock-like digital screen was counting down from two minutes and forty-eight seconds. Plenty of time to cut a wire and hope he didn't blow them both into tiny little pieces.

He reached into his pocket to grab the pocket knife he always kept there and, using the flat blade, pried the glass plate on the device apart. Bright blue, green, yellow, red, black, and purple wires snaked in and out of the timer, leading to the sticks of dynamite that were resting against Juliet's chest.

"How does it look?" Juliet asked anxiously.

Shawn flashed her a reassuring grin. "No problem. This'll be a piece of cake."

"Don't lie to me, Shawn." Her face had paled some. "Tell it to me straight."

Shawn didn't answer right away, instead grabbing one of the wires and holding his pocket knife beneath the rubber coating. "Well, Jules," he said cheerfully, "we always did want to go out for a bang."

"Speak for yourself," she started to say, but Shawn had cut the blue wire.

The numbers on the timer froze in place.

"Sweet," Shawn breathed, and helped Juliet unstrap the vest with the bomb on it. "Am I awesome, or what?"

"Um, Shawn," Juliet said nervously, pointing to the clock face. The numbers were rapidly counting down, going from two minutes and fifteen seconds to forty-five seconds in three seconds flat.

Shawn scooped Juliet up bridal style in his arms and took off at a jog. He was fifteen feet away when the dynamite exploded, blowing the sand in the dune sky high and raining down on the couple. Juliet clutched at Shawn's neck, hugging herself to him, while he walked away slowly, dramatically, with the sand falling like snowflakes-

                "Shawn."

Shawn jolted awake, nearly falling off the Psych couch in the process. He peered up at Gus, who was staring down at him with a disapproving frown on his face. Sheepishly he glanced at the Youtube video playing on loop on his Mac laptop.

"Cooool guys walk awaaaaay from explosions!"

"That's it," Gus said, shutting the lid. "No more Andy Samberg for you!"
