This story gave me the chills. Really. The good, punch-in-the-guts, feelings-induced chills. I adore your Henry, your poetry, the weaving of words and feelings in this. And now I want approximately 10k words telling me what the heck is going on and GIVING HENRY HIS REDEMPTION DAMN - but that's good, too. Just, wow. Incredible as always.

Okay, first of all: I totally thought "Guilt" was just another Gus nickname at first and was confused for a second. Just goes to show how ingrained that trope is in my brain. XD

Are you out to kill me? Because it that's the case you're doing a wonderful job - dude, this was seriously stunning. The wording, the concept, the imagery - the way alcohol makes Lassie's world shine bright and cheap, the almost aggressive glitter of life around him, and the grim darkness he has to ultimately go back to... And Carlton's secretly romantic heart, too, which believes in Ones and true loves and happy ever afters despite itself, and hurts so much because of it. You gave me all the feelings!

This is one of the best tags I've seen for Carlton/ Victoria. Seriously. Great imagery.
