"Do we have a dog? What about a cat? Oooh what about a lion? I've always wanted a lion!" Jules walked into Chief's office looking extremely exasperated. Following her was a very excited looking brunet girl of about fourteen.

"Chief," Jules practically yelled, "I have a problem."

"What seems to be the problem, O’Hara," said chief glancing nervously at the figure of hyperness hovering behind Jules.

"My cousin.” replied Jules

"Is this your cousin?" Questioned Chief, gesturing at said figure.

"No, my cousin died in a shooting last week." she said dismayed.

"Well I am sorry to hear that, but why does that present a problem?"

"He put me in his will, so now I am the legal guardian of his daughter, Kiddy," Jules said while nudging the child behind her. "So now I have to find a lawyer who can get me out of keeping her. I have no time to babysit her and be a detective at the same time."

"I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself," chimed in Kiddy for the first time since Jules started talking to Chief, "I mean, I've been doing it for at least two years now. My dad was a single parent/detective, so I was home alone quite a bit."

"There you have it. She can take care of herself," said Chief.

"That still doesn't help me much," Jules muttered. "I mean, that’s an extra mouth to feed, an extra set of clothes to buy, and another room in my house." By the end of that sentence she was yelling again.

"I could get a job." Clearly, this child wasn't going to go down without a fight.

"All I want Chief is a little extra money to help cope with my current situation,” said Juliet realizing that she couldn't get out of that last argument.

"I'll consider it," said Chief," But in the mean time, you should be working on that robbery case."

"Yes 'um," Juliet said while turning to leave the office. When she got out in the hall with Kiddy close behind her, she saw Shawn, but he was without Gus.

"Where's Gus!?" she asked.Shawn smiled and replied, "He's finishing his route. I decided to come down to the station because it’s no fun playing one man NBA Star."

"Well in that case," Jules said smiling back, "Can you watch Kiddy for me... Or Kiddy, could you watch Shawn. Well anyways the more mature one of you watch the other one. I don't want either of you two bothering Detective Lassiter."

"OK," the replied at the same time, then, as she walked away, they turned to each other, and also simultaneously, said "Rock-Paper-Scissors to see who's more mature!"

Ten minutes later Juliet returned to the spot where she had left Shawn and Kiddy only to find them engrossed in a game of Rock-Paper-Scissors.

"What are you two doing?" she said astonished.

"Playing Rock-Paper-Scissors to see who's more mature," replied Kiddy."How does that decide who's more mature?" asked Juliet, still with an inquisitive look on her face.

"It's easy!" said Shawn, "You ask a person to play RPS to see who is more ... fill in the blank and in our case its 'more mature' "

"If the person declines," piped in Kiddy, "then that person is probably more mature."

"If they except, then you duke it out," continued Shawn."And if you both say 'RPS to see who's more mature’, you know neither of you are, but you play anyways because it is really fun!"

So what do you think? If I get enough positive reviews, I continue, but I'll add in Jules' case to it.
