I don't know why it's taken me so long, but it's a really fun way to add a little something extra to your story

To start with, you'll need a picture hosting account on someplace like Photobucket. Once you upload your image, you'll have a selection of sharing codes. Now, when you post an image, here in the forum, you'd copy/paste the "IMG" option. HOWEVER, to add an image into you fic in the archive, you copy/paste the "HTML" code:
Posting Rules: please do not add pictures to the summary area of your story (with the exception of Awards Pineapples). Also, try to keep the images smallish - no bigger than, say, a banner (600 x 200 pixels max).

Finally, after the image appears in the fic, you will need to go BACK into the edit area and select the placed image. Be sure to turn off the "link" - otherwise the image will remain an active link to your photobucket.
If using a stock image, look for ".png" files with a transparent background.
